Bahamas-Cuba Cultural Exchange Continues

On May 22nd, a Bahamian delegation headed by Mr. Antonius Roberts will depart Nassau, The Bahamas to Camaguey Cuba, to take part in a ceremony that will make official the donation of some of his works to the Oncological Hospital and to the Pediatric Hospital of the City of Camaguey.

Antonius Roberts, Bahamian master artist, whose career has been devoted to highlight through his works, the wonders of The Bahamas its nature and people, will witness the donation of the pieces that were identified after an exposition of his works and those of others Bahamian artists such as, Heino Schmid and John Cox in the prestigious Art Gallery “Larios” of Camaguey last February.

This event is part of a cultural interchange that started on October 2012, with the celebration of Cuba’s Day of Culture, in Nassau, and that was continued with a joint presentation of Bahamian and Cuban artists in Camaguey on February 2013.

This interchange is intended to strengthen and develop the socio-cultural links between The Bahamas and Cuba, something that will definitely contribute to enrich, not only the cultural arena but also the people to people ties between our two nations.

Roberts will be travel in the company of a group of prominent Bahamian citizens, among them Sir Durward Knowles.
