The Bahamian Collection exhibition was officially opened on July 11, one day after the official 40th Anniversary of Independence, under the patronage of the Governor General and Lady Foulkes.
More than 300 people flocked to the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB) to witness the historic unveiling of The Bahamian Collection – an exhibition of photographic portraits of men and women from all walks of life, who together represent the heart, soul and spirit of the Bahamian character.
On Monday, July 22 Baha Mar will be hosting the second in a series of meetings for local artists to bring them up to speed on Baha Mar and to inform them about our upcoming landscape art sculpture projects for which they be invited to submit proposals.

Even though Jeffrey Meris was busy preparing for his studies in sculpture at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the new recipient of the Harry Moore Memorial Scholarship in the Arts took the time to help realise a long-held dream of the Lyford Cay Foundation’s FOCUS programme.

Fifteen children between the ages of seven and 12 got a chance to create a Hallmark moment in a photography workshop with a world-famous photographer and all the equipment they needed donated by the Bahamian Project this week.
