Freeport, Bahamas – ART Nucleus, a Grand Bahama community arts group, will host an “ARTiculate TALKS” presentation by Margot Bethel, founder of The Hub, a community-based art centre in Nassau, on Monday, 30th April 2012 at 8 pm at L’Utopia on East Sunrise Highway in Grand Bahama.

Bethel will speak on “The Learning Spiral: Facing and Embracing the Challenges of Building an Independent Artist-Run Space in The Bahamas”. Bethel is also one of the founding members of the Junkanoo scrap group, Sperit, and hosts the art-inspired radio talk show, Making It, on Island FM 102.9.

A former interior furniture-set designer and visual artist, Bethel currently heads her own art and design firm, teaches the art of woodworking at Popopstudios Centre for the Visual Arts in Nassau, and is an emerging sound artist who explores music and sound-based work in her art practice.

The public are invited to attend this free event. There will be open conversation at the conclusion. Donations to support ongoing art projects at Art Nucleus always welcomed. L’Utopia is located on East Sunrise Highway behind Les Fountains-family plaza, where Emelicke Fountain’s Car Wash and Candie’s Cabana are located.
