Pan said he came to The Bahamas without a pre-formed idea about the artwork he would produce during this residency, wanting instead to be inspired by his new surroundings and the Bahamian culture.

Born in China, Pan moved to New York at an young age. He attended the School of Visual Arts in N.Y., graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In the following 6 years, he exhibited his work while interning at galleries, and working as an assistant to artists.

In 2011, he received a Masters of Fine Arts from Queens College with a focus on painting and sculpture.  Currently, he lives in New York City where he is fully immersed in the art community. He works as a Sculpture Technologist at The Fashion Institute of Technology. He has curated exhibitions and participated in site-specific installations in N.Y. as well as Art Basel Miami.
