The Bahamian Project

The Bahamian Project is a not-for-profit initiative in collaboration with the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas and Popopstudios International Center for The Visual Arts, to create a collection of portraits that will be the foundation of a permanent National Portrait Gallery.

Your Donation Can Help Preserve The Legacy

Donations can be made by cash or check to Popopstudios… or electronically by clicking the Donate button below.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us create a permanent collection of photographs to provide recognition, foster cultural awareness and create a record of the people who make The Bahamas so unique.

Your donation will help us preserve history, providing meaning and insight to this time in the story of The Bahamas, showing the good in Bahamian society so that it may be fostered, enriched and enjoyed forever.

These are a few documentary photos taken during photo sessions. The finished black and white images will be on display at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas as part of their programming for the 40th Anniversary of The Bahamas’ Independence. Visit our blog for more in-progress photos and info.

Through the generosity of our sponsors and public donations, the Bahamian Project will preserve, sponsor and present to the public; photographic exhibitions, portfolios, books, lectures, videos, seminars and workshops that show the beauty and character of the people of The Bahamas.
