Kendal Hanna Retrospective Closing Reception

The Retrospective Exhibition “Kendal Hanna – Happy Birthday to Me” opened on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas on West Hill Street.

A Closing Reception will be held at The National Art Gallery of the Bahamas on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 6:30pm until 9:30pm.

Kendal Hanna was born on June 25, 1936 in Nassau, Bahamas. This exhibition was timed to coincide with the artist’s 75th birthday and has featured key works from his almost sixty-year career.

All Star Amateur Artists Night (AAA)
The premier art exhibition of works by talented Bahamian amateur artists will be featured along with the closing of Kendal Hanna’s Retrospective exhibition.

AAA invited amateur and non-professional artists from the 12th grade senior and older to create work under the theme: In The Likeness of Kendal Hanna,” that reflects Hanna’s abstract artistic style and/or his subject matter of portraiture.

During the run of the exhibition the NAGB featured workshops, has been hosting films in keeping with the theme of the Kendal Hanna Retrospective Exhibition and also hosted numerous field trips from various schools and students of varying ages.
