The first of a series of three solo shows, “Metanoia” featuring the work of Navarro Newton, is the culmination of a year’s hard graft at Popopstudios ICVA.

Kendal Hanna, a Bahamian artist and forerunner of abstract painting, brilliantly captures energetic expression and emotion through the intense repetition of line exemplified in Untitled (Rainbow Explosion).

Popopstudios is pleased to present the first of three consecutive exhibitions featuring the work of the 2016 Popop Junior Residence Prize Winners. Now in its eighth year the PJRP award is co-sponsored by the D’Aguiliar Art Foundation and is given annually to 3 emerging artists under the age of 25. The exhibition opens Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Popopstudios.

Artist Jeffery Meris has taken the popular Bahamian practice know as “asue” and translated the concept into an interactive art show. “Asue 20/20” is a series of participatory objects, from the Yorubic tradition.

For three Thursdays – January 26th, February 2nd, and 9th – from 11am to 12pm and 12pm to 1pm, NE8 participating artist Jeffrey Meris will invite an artist, activist, writer, or person of interest from the wider community to sit with him and have local tea and conversation about community, love, art and everything else going on in the world.

‘This is Yours, That is Mine’, is a presentation of new works by artists Jeffrey Meris and Tessa Whitehead. The exhibition is at The D’Aguilar Art Foundation.
