360 Exhibition

By in News on April 16, 2012

Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the Pro Gallery – S Block, COB, Thompson Blvd., Nassau, The Bahamas

The students of Art 360: Intermediate Drawing and lecturer Heino Schmid invite you to attend an exhibition of selected works created this past semester.

At the beginning of the year Art 360 students were given three challenges:

1) To redefine drawing (both in the context of art history, and as it relates to their own developing practices).

2) To actualize this personalized definition for drawing in a body of work.

3) To consider the possibilities of alternative presentation techniques as a main component in the development of this work.

The result is a surprising mixture of visuals and creative disciplines (including photography, sculpture and installation) that effectively challenge drawing as a medium and redefine it as a tool for expression.

360 opens 6pm, Thursday April 19 at the Pro Gallery (S9 The College of The Bahamas) and includes work by Darchelle Creary, Christina Darville, Keva Fawkes, Yutavia George, Steven Schmid, Chalthorn Strachan, Chris Symmonette, and Samantha Treco.

Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
