This year’s edition of National Exhibition, “Kingdom Come,” provides 50 visual thinkers with a practical platform on which to collide with their vision of our present confusion or with hopeful projections of new beginnings.
Capturing the true essence of the Bahamian spirit is one of the many ambitious goals behind a captivating new arts initiative that seeks to help preserve the character and legacy of the country’s most precious resource – its people.
The subjects of the project will include Bahamians and members of the community from all walks of life and islands.

Popopstudios is looking for serious artists to fill a number of vacant studio spaces.
Popop has been committed to the advancement of art in The Bahamas for over fifteen years, and houses a diverse group of local and international professional artists.
The National Art Gallery of the Bahamas and Popopstudios have collaborated with Popop-based photographer Duke Wells to create The Bahamian Project. This three-year working initiative will yield a collection of high-quality, black-and-white fine art portraits that will document and explore the positive spirit of Bahamian people from a humanistic point-of-view.
Two local organisations joined forces last Saturday to raise awareness about diabetes and work with children affected by the disease.
Awareness, Compassion and Education (ACE) Diabetes and the Diabetic Research Institute (DRI), brought artists and children together at Popopstudios to assist in painting a mural that will be installed Downtown for World Diabetes Day on November 14.
Alistair Stevenson was one of the winners of the Bahamas Speed Week Revival drawing for complimentary tickets. On hand to draw out the winning names were artists Antonius Roberts and Heino Schmid.
