Popop Welcomes Anne Foresman

Anne Foresman is the current international artist-in-residence at Popopstudios. She will be working at Popop for six weeks.

Anne graduated in 1989 from the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in painting, and received the Florence Lief Scholarship for best female painter. After graduation, she moved to Brooklyn, where she lived and painted from 1990-1993. In 1993 Anne went to graduate school at The Museum School of Fine Arts, Boston, MA for a Masters in fine arts, and graduated in 1996. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles, CA, and worked as the lead muralist and decorative painter for The Demar Feldman Company from 1998-2003.

In 2003, Anne returned to Boston with a desire to teach art. During this time, she worked as an art teacher for The Stoney Brook Elementary School, Lesley University in Cambridge and the The North Central Charter School in Fitchburg, MA. In the summer of 2010, Anne received a scholarship to study at Kripalu to become a certified yoga instructor. From 2010-2011 she taught an art program to elementary students at The Bennet Hemenway School in Natick, Massachusetts, and also worked as a scenic designer for for Art of The Event in Medford, Massachusetts.

In 2011, Anne was granted a two-month residency to study at the Art Student league of New York. In 2012 she received a residency grant to study art at Los Talleres in Mexico. She worked for the Theatre Offensive in 2012 doing scenic backdrops for theatrical productions. In April 2012, Anne began to teach private art lessons to children and adults through a company called Arts2You, in Weston, Massachusetts.

Later she moved to the Bahamas to teach at The Lyford Cay International School and continues to work there today.
