Kishan Munroe Works On New Mural
Kishan Munroe has been putting in long hours at his studio at Popopstudios ICVA. He is working on a new mural with a socio-political theme. More information to follow as to the concept and where the mural will be displayed upon completion.

Revolution In Education, Culture And National Development
Following the successful and exciting symposium on the life and works of Frantz Fanon at The College of The Bahamas Fanon Symposium 2011 this past December, COB professors Craig Smith and Keithley Woolward are ready to establish the framework for year-round critical conversations open to the public.
“It’s about creating a culture of critical engagement where academic or critical thinking that is usually associated with academic institutions is not uncommon to The Bahamas,” explains Woolward.
Downtown Art Tours Relaunched Under Islandz
The new tours offered by Islandz will launch with a special inaugural day tour this Saturday, February 11 for $20 per person. It’s an auspicious beginning for the expanded company as they will launch on the same day as – and include on the tour – the Antonius Roberts Studio and Gallery at Hillside House on Cumberland Street. It will also cover the recently-opened tribute to Jackson Burnside at The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas, “As We Knew Him”, as well as other spaces.
Into The Mix Opens
Into the Mix – exhibition at The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft – will be an excellent example of the return to Materiality for 10 artists that have a relationship to the Caribbean. Bahamian artists featured are Heino Schmid, Blue Curry and Janine Antoni.
