This Friday, August 17, the community of artists at Popopstudios International Center for the Visual Arts will open the doors of their studio spaces to the public for viewing and one-on-one conversations about the creative process.
The Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) will be hosting the bi-annual fundraiser “Big Screen Art Scene” on Saturday, September 1st.
This spectacular event will be on board the 135 foot Carrousel Yacht and ventures deep into the Bahamian arts and culture scene by building strong relationships with a wide variety of local artists.
The presence of public art installations and communities of artists in downtrodden cities around the world have consistently brought vitality back to the areas in the form of a thriving culture and economy.

The Popopstudios Junior Residency Prize winners have been in New York City for three days and are making the rounds to the top museums and art galleries. Popop founder John Cox and curator Heino Schmid are leading the small group on a 10-day educational art-saturated junket to explore the expansive New York art scene.
The three art students who received the 2012 Popopstudios International Center for the Visual Artists Junior Residency Prize – Veronica Dorsett, Steven Schmid and Yutavia George, along with Christina Darville, winner of the 2nd Antonius Roberts Award have been devotedly developing their artistic skills this summer at Popop.
