Popop’s current resident artist, Chawne Paige, is leading a collaborative mural project on Popop’s grounds. The mural, located in the rear area of the main building, will be a permanent part of the campus.

Katrina Cartwright and Sonia Farmer are excited to be instructors in the upcoming semester at Popopstudios. Semester 3 will span a 12-week period being divided into two sections for the adult classes.
Veronica Dorsett and Steven Schmid – two of the three Popopstudios International Center for the Visual Artists Junior Residency Prize Winners for 2012 – will be speaking about their many and varied learning experiences over the past three months.
For almost 30 years the Annual Art Competition and Exhibition by the Central Bank of The Bahamas has been a venue for aspiring professional artists in high school and beyond to present their very best to the public, and now Curator of the Central Bank Art Gallery Curator Heino Schmid plans to raise the bar.
Popop’s new resident artist, Chawne Paige, will be facilitating a collaborative mural project that will take place on Popop’s grounds over a period of approximately 2 weeks.
There will be a meeting at Popopstudios in the gallery on Monday, August 27th at 6:30pm for all interested persons.
The Popopstudios community of artists is happy to welcome our newest International Artist in Residence – Chawne Paige.
“People love coming into the studio environment,” said one of the guests at Popopstudios’ Open Studios evening, “seeing the artistic process and the materials used, seeing works not yet finished, one gains a deeper appreciation for the artist and the artwork.”
Alistair Stevenson’s ceramic artwork was selected as the “Matchbox of the Day” for Sunday, August 12, as part of The Matchbox Show – an ongoing international exhibition featuring the work of hundreds of artists.
